Sail Training for Young People

Trinity's three vessels are ideal platforms for tall ships sail training voyages for young people.

We believe that although everyone can benefit from the experience of sailing on traditional vessels, young people in their formative years can derive a particular range of benefits from offshore cruises.

The vessels have a long history that underlines their sea-keeping qualities. They are also:

  • more stable, and thus safer, than modern yachts

  • yet small enough that trainees can tackle all of the tasks on board - unlike conditions on replica square riggers

  • an environment in which working as a team and developing new life skills come naturally

For many young people, the experience we offer opens up new horizons and can bring about a pronounced change in inner belief and relationships with others.

NB The Trinity Sailing Trust, our parent body, is dedicated to helping disadvantaged young people enjoy the benefits of sail training, and in certain circumstances can assist with funding. To find out more go to www.trinitysailingtrust.org
